That three of CommCare's skilled nursing facilities ranked in
the top five best nursing homes in Louisiana by U.S. News and World Reportand received an
overall five-star rating this past quarter from the federal
government's Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services?!
Bayou Vista Community Care Center and Ridgecrest Community Care Center achieved
five-star overall ratings (the highest rating) in the last quarter
of 2011. And of more than 15,500 nursing homes rated and profiled
on the U.S. News and World Report website from across the
country,Riverlands Commnity Care Centerwas among the
fewer than one in eight that received a five-star overall rating in
all four quarters last year!
The facilities' overall rating correlates with their
performances in health inspections (health and safety standards for
food preparation and other nursing home activities); nurse staffing
(average number of hours per day of care received per resident from
nurses); and measures of medical care quality (percentages of
residents who got recommended care, such as flu vaccinations, and
percentages of residents who had pain, bedsores, and other care
related problems).
Riverlands Community Care Center is a skilled nursing and
rehabilitation center located in St. James Parish, owned and
operated by CommCare Corporation.
Our staff specializes in providing skilled nursing, long term
care, and short term rehabilitation such as physical, speech,
occupational and restorative therapies. We serve Lutcher and the
surrounding areas. Our facility works closely with other
regional medical facilities, including St. James Hospital in
transition to nursing home arrangements
